5 Minute Chia Ice-Cream Sundae

Chia seeds are something everybody is talking about. You might have read about it in some of the blogs, health and nutrition articles, Youtube videos, Insta, Pinterest and where not. I got introduced to Chia last year when I was in Mumbai. I was having falooda kulfi at Juhu when I noticed those weird fish egg like things in my serving. I asked the vendor what it was. Sabza, he said. "Yeh kya hota h??". then he explained we that these seeds have cooling properties and are beneficial for our body. Then the curious me googled its English name, followed by its health benefits. Soon after I started consuming this. I loved those seeds in my sharbat and ice creams. Like ways, I came up with this recipe while I was thinking of the ways to incorporate these into my daily schedule. This is such an easy recipe even your kids will love to make it on their own. 5 Minute Chia Ice-Cream Sundae Serves 2 Ingredients: Chia seeds 2 tbsp (soaked for at least 20 minutes)...

My Take On: Malaka Spice

Hey lovelies, I have a friend who is transferring to NCR this weekend. It all happened on such a short notice that we didn’t get enough time to plan for anything. She received the confirmation on Thursday, hence we planned an evening out on the very day. The irony of this farewell party is that the person departing was on fast.:P. Anyways, we decided a beautiful place but due to traffic and work the next day, we ended in the neighborhood. So here’s My Take on: Malaka Spice. The first impression, those flower laden rickshaws parked on both sides of the entrance. As I stepped in I liked their outdoor seating, those beautifully decorated walls with picture frames and then those paper lamps on the edge of the shed running all the way to the other end. Southeast Asian food is not something I like. I just can’t take red chilly or pungent and sharp flavors like those of kimchi. I am a die-hard fan of Chinese, probably that’s what I eat more often than my own food. But Thai o...

My Take On: Underdogs Sports Bar

Hello lovely Readers, In my last article, I told you about my visit home. Here’s another one from those memories. Today m going to tell you about, my take on: Underdoggs Sports bar. I have Memories attached to this place. My very first visit was in Chandigarh when I was in College 2nd year. Back in those days, vacations were fun. My college gang and I used to go to Chandigarh for training. And trust me that used to be the golden era, especially when I was a day scholar. It’s not that I was a spoilt brat or my parents were strict or difficult. But I just loved this time as I enjoyed being independent. So, one fine day we all decided to visit Elante Mall. It was such a hype at that time, the new big thing in the UT. While exploring we reached Underdogs. It was such a fancy place and a really new concept. We were really impressed by its infusion of sports with dining and the bar. There were punching bags hanging at one place, snooker tables, foosball, etc. at the oth...

After 2 minutes, I gain some senses and realize I actually talked on the phone, and just to be sure I call back. He: Tu aa bhi gayi?? Really Quick!! Me: No... Can I come in PJs.? He: Ok no problem. I went to the parking and ask what happened? He: It's a surprise. So I just sealed my mouth sat behind him and enjoyed the morning ride. Because surprises are something that I don't get to see very often. Hello Lovely Readers, Today I'm going to share my yet another experience with you Guys, And as you know it was a surprise for me. A very close friend of mine took me to this place. So here's my Take on : Yogi Tree Address: 294 2, Ragvilas Society, Koregaon Park, Pune, Maharashtra. My Take On: Pal Dhaba

Hello Lovely Readers, Apologies for not writing for a while now.I was on a vacation for about two weeks and went home. It took a while for me to get out of that mood, then the missing home phase, and soak in office environment. So,Today I'm going to share the most delighted experience of my vacation. And yes! Its about The Glorified Butter chicken... Balle balle!! :P Here's my Take on Pal Dhaba Address:    Booth No. 165-166, Sector 28 D, Chandigarh, 160102 When ever I visit home, the first thing that i religiously do is visit this restaurant. I always take the morning flight from Pune to Chandigarh, Avoid the in-flight food and survive my journey only on water. Now you may say, Such a miser! doesn't want to spend on the over priced food items at the airports and flights. But No!!! This all is done just to save that extra space to stuff at Pal Dhaba. The only route that my Dad remembers from airport to my home is via Sector 28-D. Thanks to me. I visit this...

The Shaadi Phobia: A few things my Parents should know

Dear Mum and Papa, I'm writing this post to tell you a few things that I can't t tell you directly. I have always hoped that something magical happens overnight, such that when you wake up you get what I wanted to tell but couldn't. Though I wanted God to cast that spell, but now let's not bother God for this tiny thing, and let this blog be magical. Over my last 2-3 visits home, you guys have talked to me about marriage. And you Mum, you have even tried to persuade me in every manner. And we have talked about the things at a high level. Still, I feel the need to tell you all the things that bother me and how. Here are the things I want you to know: I too want to be a bride : Dear mum, I know you have been thinking about all the silly reasons for me saying no to getting married, you might have also thought of me as a Lesbian :P (Yes! I know you have). But Honestly, I too want to be a bride. I have always dreamed of a Lavish wedding and happily ever after scena...

Maher -- Mother's Home

Maher means mother's home. And its an orphanage. Sarcastic isn't it??? It was one fine week when the humble and responsible human inside me woke up and said-- "Hey! Lets do something noble." And then i hit that little button to register for the CSR activity in my office. Well CSR is Corporate Social responsibility. People get together and spend their weekend doing something good for the society. This time we had a visit to this orphanage Maher. I wasn't knowing the meaning of this word until i reached there and read the board outside the building. And this phrase following the name of the orphanage caught my eyes and my heart. A night before I couldn't sleep thinking how its going to be. How will be my experience. And I think like me most of us have this impression that orphanages are sad places. And we feel pity for the kids, sad feeling, tears, being grateful that we have a family ,comparison and stuff.I had never visited an orphanage until...

My Take on: German Bakery

One fine day, I made some efforts and finally visited this place.                       The German Bakery!! Here we go, with my take on: German Bakery this week. Location:  292, Road No. 1, North Main Road, Ragvilas Society, Koregaon Park, Pune. This is one of the most famous place for hangout in Pune. I have seen people being crazy about it. Hence I decided to visit this place, put in some efforts and was on my way. And when I say "some efforts" I actually mean a hell lot of efforts. I had to kick my laziness on a Sunday evening when i was completely exhausted after finishing all the household chores that we push and pile for weekends. This was my very first visit and as i entered this place, it reminded me of a similar place from my hometown. The place is beautiful, its like a house turned into a restaurant, with tables and park benches arranged around the building. They also have indoor seating...

My Take on: Prem's

Howdy people!? I'm in a cheerful mood today... Think my Zumba class charged me.. :P (giggle) So today I'm going to share my experience with one of the famous restaurant in Pune --Prem's. Ever since I moved to Pune I have been longing for good Punjabi food. And I have been hearing a lot about this place: Prem's Restaurant: 28/2, Opp. Lane 3, North Main Road, Koregaon Park, Pune. I got to visit this place last weekend. It was a rainy evening and I went there for dinner with a couple of friends. As usual before going there I did little R&D about the place and the menu. I was ready with my order before reaching there. The place has outdoor seating. The tables are arranged under a shed alongside the bar. the tables are candle-lit. Dim lights, raining, slight cold and outdoor dinner. Amazing. The ambiance is good. And now comes the food. We ordered few starters both veg and non veg, and the main course. Our order was: Starters; Veg Spring rolls: Th...

Whats with Maharashtra's Punjabi dhabas and butter chicken?

Ever since I moved to Pune I have been longing for good Punjabi food. And trust me I have not yet found a place which can quench my desire. There are many places I have tried, but they are all okay but not what is expected and no where near actual Punjabi taste. And the last time when I ate good butter chicken was when i went home, and the first thing i did was rush to Pal's Dhaba directly from the airport. Now you can imagine my love for it. All these years i couldn't understand one thing, whats this connection of Maharashtra with sweet butter chicken?? The first time when I ordered butter chicken here, I returned it and said its not butter chicken, you have mistakenly served me the wrong dish. :/ I grew up eating butter chicken (stop guessing my weight...!!). For me butter chicken is equivalent to God's special gift to mankind. Those delicate, tender pieces in rich creamy gravy, a perfect blend of spices, neither too spicy, nor bland. Creamy silky rose gold curry ,...

Lesson learnt: never be too good

I was having a good day until i came home. My day was going great, woke up late, got ready really fast, cooked half fried eggs, threw them in the tiffin , and baaaam!!!... I was out of the door. All set for a perfect day at office. Dashed through the traffic in mesmerizing drizzle (oh m in love with it). And i reached office. The day went well met all deadlines no pending work, perfect end of the week. Came home. Rushed for my Zumba class, Abs day.. struggled for max of the time but it was fun. And now that unwanted moment arrived, i connected my wifi and saw these messages on our flatmates group. 'm on fine and this time with anger. the message read "I'll be paying only 4k as rent as per bla bla f##@ing mah life mah rules calculations.. " Oh hello! come again.!!! The story goes this way, we are 3 people sharing a 3 bhk flat. One of the flatmates is leaving and we agreed to share equal portions of rent rather than our usual %age of share (based on the size ...

RJ The Techie

Hello Readers, I have separated this section to post purely technical stuff. Here I'll post articles related to the technologies i work on. Oh, Did I mention I am a software engineer?? No??!!! Ooops... Well, yes, I am a Software Engineer working with one of the leading MNC's. Its been two years and I have been lucky enough to get exposed to the niche technologies in the market. I got trained in BIG DATA. Then started working in Business Intelligence on Data Visualization tools like Qlikview and Tableau. My work is basically creating reports for the clients. Reports are in the form of dashboards, that have pictorial representations of the results derived from the data. Its like you get the data, you understand it. Then infer different business KPIs from that data and represent it pictorially. The dashboards are interactive and user friendly. The results on the dashboards can be changed with a few clicks here and there. The result set can be drilled-down, rolled-up, wid...

TwistyMystyLife

Hello Readers, My name is Rupuneet J. a.k.a. Roop And this is my very first post as a blogger. I have just begun and trust me I'm a nomad at this. I know almost nothing about this except that its a good platform to express. I have been watching all these videos and reading articles about sweet simple things in our lives. And they were all so simple yet beautiful to read. To some extent I have been very expressive in my life.  I always wanted to start my own blog but i could never find what to write about? All these years my questions to myself were -- why would somebody read what i write?? Am i famous?? No!! Are you a Beauty Queen?? Or a Celeb??  and my mind would reply-- Come on, what have been thinking ? you ain't a Celeb or anything so chuck off and stay grounded. Hence I moved on living a normal life that turned monotonic and boring with the job and the same boring routine. But today, something happened and I have started writing this article with that zing in me...
