My Take On: Underdogs Sports Bar

Hello lovely Readers,

In my last article, I told you about my visit home. Here’s another one from those memories.
Today m going to tell you about, my take on: Underdoggs Sports bar.

I have Memories attached to this place. My very first visit was in Chandigarh when I was in College 2nd year. Back in those days, vacations were fun. My college gang and I used to go to Chandigarh for training. And trust me that used to be the golden era, especially when I was a day scholar. It’s not that I was a spoilt brat or my parents were strict or difficult. But I just loved this time as I enjoyed being independent.

So, one fine day we all decided to visit Elante Mall. It was such a hype at that time, the new big thing in the UT. While exploring we reached Underdogs. It was such a fancy place and a really new concept. We were really impressed by its infusion of sports with dining and the bar. There were punching bags hanging at one place, snooker tables, foosball, etc. at the other. Being on student budget we couldn’t splurge but settle with a platter and Pasta. And honestly, I liked everything.
This was how Underdogs became a special thing for me.

When in my final year I moved to Gurgaon for an internship, I longed for this place. I came to know that there is another branch in here made me ecstatic. I visited this place again, this time with my Uncle and a few friends. This was the coolest experience ever. This place was huge they had all these crazy games, indoor football, foot snooker (something like snooker but you play it with softballs and feet), sumo wrestling where you wear sumo costumes. It was fabulous.
It was such an overwhelming experience. And to top it the food and drinks were ultimate.

This year when I went home, I had to meet a really good friend. We joined our organization together, we and our dads became friends on the same day. :P We were sent to different locations after training and now we were meeting after about a year. To make it extra special memory lane chooses Underdogs.

Honestly, my visit can be described in two words -- Horrible & Pathetic. They trashed my sweet memories and affection for the place in one go.
First, There was nobody at the gate which made me think for 5 minutes if they are open or should I rush in.
Second, It looked so gloomy, cold and dark near the entrance and hot and humid on the other end.
A series of things followed after this, bad service, REAL BAD. Undercooked food. Burnt food. I don’t know what happened to this place in just 4 years, how it became so shady.

My Take On: Malaka Spice

Hey lovelies, I have a friend who is transferring to NCR this weekend. It all happened on such a short notice that we didn’t get enough time to plan for anything. She received the confirmation on Thursday, hence we planned an evening out on the very day. The irony of this farewell party is that the person departing was on fast.:P. Anyways, we decided a beautiful place but due to traffic and work the next day, we ended in the neighborhood. So here’s My Take on: Malaka Spice. The first impression, those flower laden rickshaws parked on both sides of the entrance. As I stepped in I liked their outdoor seating, those beautifully decorated walls with picture frames and then those paper lamps on the edge of the shed running all the way to the other end. Southeast Asian food is not something I like. I just can’t take red chilly or pungent and sharp flavors like those of kimchi. I am a die-hard fan of Chinese, probably that’s what I eat more often than my own food. But Thai o...

My Take on: Prem's

Howdy people!? I'm in a cheerful mood today... Think my Zumba class charged me.. :P (giggle) So today I'm going to share my experience with one of the famous restaurant in Pune --Prem's. Ever since I moved to Pune I have been longing for good Punjabi food. And I have been hearing a lot about this place: Prem's Restaurant: 28/2, Opp. Lane 3, North Main Road, Koregaon Park, Pune. I got to visit this place last weekend. It was a rainy evening and I went there for dinner with a couple of friends. As usual before going there I did little R&D about the place and the menu. I was ready with my order before reaching there. The place has outdoor seating. The tables are arranged under a shed alongside the bar. the tables are candle-lit. Dim lights, raining, slight cold and outdoor dinner. Amazing. The ambiance is good. And now comes the food. We ordered few starters both veg and non veg, and the main course. Our order was: Starters; Veg Spring rolls: Th...
