I was about to leave Pune last month and finally move to Gurgaon. It was
something that I really wanted from long. So before I leave I wanted to do all
that which I should.
Only 2 weeks before leaving, I got this awakening. And I almost striked
most of the things off my list. Watching a live comedy show was also on my
list. And it happened all by chance.
One plesant sunday morning I woke up, scrolled through my feed and there it
was.
"Yo peeeeeplz its going to be Phun tonight..."
"OMG! He's coming to Pune... Tonight!!! “I screamed through the house.
Before I could brush my teeth, I got my tickets done. And how could I miss it, my favorite comedian
was coming to my city. My first live stand-up comedy show and that too of my
favorite comic.
In an eyes blink, came the laughter filled evening. We reached the venue
and there he was on the stage. The man himself…
JEEVESHU AHLUWALIA…………
To me he appeared nothing less than a magician except with all his jokes up
his sleeve. He gave us a good time. A laughter filled evening , a cheek workout.
He made us feel our abs that have been hiding under fat ever since.
Those glorious words “Maiyaveya”, “Kutte k bache”, “haramzadeya” were such
a treat to the years. Haven’t heard those words live since I moved to Pune. :P
The major reason why I adore him so much is ---
A, for his immense talent. The humor he brings out of daily boring things
is commendable.
B, I didn’t find him repeat any jokes at the show. Repeating jokes is such
a turn off. In this digital age, where we all follow our favs on internet, that
we know all of their jokes from every show they have ever performed. And
getting the same thing, at a live show could be a disappointment. And this man
gives no reason to be disappointed.
C, Spontaneous. He is so spontaneous that he could make a joke of the most
annoying thing happening around him, within seconds.
D, Respect for his determination. I knew he is working to lose some pounds.
But seeing him live and in the photos was a big difference. He is like not even
1/4th of the Jeeveshu we used to know. HUGE RESPECT.
